- Who we are
- TechFest Australia, Australian proprietary company (Pty Ltd), registration in progress, based in Victoria. Contact us about privacy at privacy@techfestaustralia.com.au.
- What we collect
- Everything you type into this form: your entry type, division and category, the team name, the project title, summary and stage, the support you would like, how you heard about us, and the contact details on Stage 03. For school teams that is the school’s name, suburb, state and postcode, the teacher mentor’s name, role, school email and phone, their confirmation that they hold a Working with Children Check, and each student’s first name, last name and year level. For individual and open-team entries it is the lead contact’s name, email and phone, the state and postcode you are based in, any university or TAFE, and the first and last name of each other team member with an optional email. We also record which consent boxes you ticked, including the optional photo and marketing ones. We do not ask for dates of birth, student email addresses or home addresses.
- Anti-spam
- The form carries one hidden field that must be left empty and records the moment the page opened. Both are used only to filter out automated submissions. The hidden field’s contents are never stored or sent on, and the organisers see only how long the form took to fill in.
- Why
- To process and manage your entry, contact you about the competition, invoice and receipt the entry fee, organise judging, mentoring and events, and keep young people safe.
- If you do not provide it
- No law requires you to give us these details, but without them we cannot process your entry.
- Where it goes
- When you launch, the form sends these details to our website host, which emails them to the organisers’ inbox and emails the lead contact a short confirmation holding only your reference and category. The organisers hold the full entry. We keep a short record of each accepted entry in our server logs so an entry is never lost if an email fails.
- Who we share it with
- Judges, mentors, and venue and hub partners, only as needed to run the competition. We do not sell personal information.
- Payment
- No payment details are collected here and this site never shows a card field. When the fee is published we send an invoice or a link to a payment provider’s own secure page. That provider receives the payer’s payment details; we receive only the payment reference and the amount. We will name the provider here before payments open.
- Overseas
- Our website host (Vercel) and our email provider (Resend) may store or process these details outside Australia, including in the United States. We are confirming the full list of countries with both providers and will publish it here before registrations open.
- Access, correction, complaints
- Our privacy policy explains how to access or correct your information and how to make a complaint, including to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
- Marketing
- We only send newsletters or event news if you tick the separate marketing box below.
